This is a rare men's juban from around Taisho period(1912-1925). Textile is jinken(rayon), but very similar soft and smooth touch to silk.
It has very unique war-horse theme motifs.

-Horse with boy soldier, text near them reads 'aiba koushin kyoku'( beloved horse march )
-Rushing soldiers on horses
-Horse toy and record with song name 'Aiba-shingun-ka'( beloved horse anabasis song )
-Bag with text reads 'Aiba-bukuro, mugon-no-senshi'( speechless soldier, beloved horse bag )

Theme is war, but we feel the affection to the horse from this piece. Designer had to pity horses, who were sent off to the war.
