This is a fabulous black maru obi from around Taisho period(1912-1925) - it has bold sail ship pattern, which is woven with artistic touch!
Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch.
It has some flaws as photos show(frays and tears in the hems). Because of tears, it can not be tied formally, but it is still wonderful piece for its design!
